FARGO — Matthew Donovan moved his right arm quite a bit on Thursday, his father reported in his daily Facebook update. Donavan, the Mayville State quarterback who was injured in a helmet-to-helmet hit during a Sept. 19 game and has remained in an induced coma at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, has had decreased swelling in his head, Terry Donovan wrote. More importantly, we are seeing more movement and more responses. Those little victories might not seem like much to someone else, but to us, they mean everything. More from his father: Matt was moving his right arm quite a bit today. At one point, he even reached up and had his hand on the tubing coming from his trach. He keeps giving us reasons to smile and hope. One of today s best moments came when his old high school teammate and friend, Brock Swanson, stopped in. Brock is a video coordinator for South Dakota State and made a big detour on his trip home during their bye week to visit our warrior.
